TU Darmstadt stands for excellent and relevant science. We are playing a decisive role in shaping far-reaching processes of global change—from energy transition to artificial intelligence—through outstanding scientific knowledge and innovative academic programmes. We group our cutting-edge research into three fields: Energy and Environment, Information and Intelligence, Matter and Materials. We are a university with strong ties to the Frankfurt Rhine-Main metropolitan region and a very strong international focus. We are committed to European values and European integration.
We are a dynamic, innovative team in search of new nanoporous materials, manufacturing methods and transport processes that deliver benefits in the areas of water, sensor technology and energy conversion. More information about our research is available here on our website:

Within the project “High-resolution fluorescence microscopy for automated writing of polymers in nanopores” we intend to functionalize mesoporous silica materials with polymers with high precision. This is based on the use of high-resolution fluorescence microscopy techniques and serves to control molecular communication between compartments. In particular, the application and adaptation of microscopy techniques to polymerization is crucial.
In this context we are looking for:
an expert in the field of high-resolution fluorescence microscopy or controlled polymer functionalization of nanoscale pores to control ionic transport.
